About
Laima Haley is a Colorado fiddler and singer rooted in bluegrass, old-time, and Americana, with a musical passport that stretches from Appalachia to Eastern Europe. Originally trained as a classical violinist, she found her true voice in fiddle traditions after a formative year in Lithuania and has been weaving those influences into her playing ever since. These days Laima performs regularly with The Crones (a Colorado bluegrass trio), the Rusty Gears, and Smoragasgrass, while also singing and fiddling with Planina: Songs of Eastern Europe and Colorado's Lithuanian folk ensemble Uola. Whether she's driving a bluegrass groove or exploring Bulgarian harmonies, she brings Jazz, Blues, and Klezmer colors to everything she plays.By day, she works as Marketing and Public Relations Director for CU Presents at the University of Colorado Boulder.Laima is available for band bookings and freelance work for shows and recordings.
